Mapping the Future: Stairways to Heaven or Highways to Hell?
Hall 3, 07/11/2013 (11.00-12:20)
The evolution of society will be driven by geography, demographics, and technology. Will future technological change strengthen or weaken Europe as a geographical and cultural entity? The session will address the long-term vision of the co-evolution of technology and society, towards 2050, , identifying the strongest technological drivers and their potential impact on the European economy and society. Technological progress will create many options for changing the way we live and work; many are good, some less desirable. How can we manage this, to ensure the best future outcome?
