3DPHONE: Developing an All-3D Imaging Mobile Phone

Technologies being developed in the 3DPHONE project will add 3D image capture and display capability to mobile phones.

The ‘all-3D imaging phone’ project aims to develop technologies and core applications enabling a new level of user experience by creating an end-to-end all-3D imaging mobile phone. The goal is to realise all the fundamental functions of the phone in 3D. This exhibit will demonstrate the project results to date, including a 3D mobile phone prototype that has 3D image capture and display capability. Visitors to the stand will also see the new types of user experience available with 3D user interfaces and media applications, and will be able to view the performance of the mobile 3D video solutions for capture and display. The stand will also present the ergonomics and user evaluation results for viewing stereoscopic content.
