Jacqueline MCGLADE registered to attend the ICT 2013 Event
Professor Jacqueline McGlade is Special Advisor to UNEP’s Executive Director working on the post 2015 development agenda and UNEP Live, This is UNEP's knowledge platform, which is being built around cloud computing and mobile technologies as a showcase for green technology and carbon neutrality. Working with a network of government, civil society, centres of excellence and enterprise partnerships, UNEP Live is designed to give easy access to quality assured up-to-date environmental data and information and dynamic intelligence about emerging issues derived. She is a Professor at University College London and recently completed 10 years as Executive Director of the European Environment Agency. Her previous appointments included Director of the Centre for Coastal and Marine Sciences Centre of the UK Natural Environment Research Council, Professor at Warwick University, Institute Director FZ Jülich and Senior Scientist in the Canadian Federal Government. She has developed a range of fuzzy-logic software applications for decision-making under high degrees of uncertainty, including Flood Ranger and SimCoast, and helped to create and launch Eye on Earth - the global public information service. She has produced a range of television and radio series and award winning feature films, most recently Planet RE:think, and published more than 200 scientific papers, articles and books on the environment and planetary dynamics and governance of resources.
