Anna Mazgal is a consultant at Ashoka Poland and CEE. She has been involved with NGOs from the beginning of her professional career, working with the Ronald S. Lauder Foundation, National Federation of Polish NGOs, European Network of National Civil Society Organizations, and Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe. Her main focus has been development of programming and operations, including exit strategy of the CEE Trust from the region. She has been also involved in advocacy initiatives, with special regard to inclusion of citizens into law making processes and usage of ICT in transparency and governance. Anna is an expert member of Civic Legislative Forum in Poland and Young Advisors Group affiliated by the European Commission. Anna is a co-founder of the Facebook-based initiative called “I don’t Go to Men-Only Panels” highlighting the need of greater inclusion of women’s perspective into public life and professional environments.Anna treats writing as a parallel strand of her career, contributing frequently to the “Liberal Culture” online weekly and via her own blog. Her main writing focus is citizen empowerment and its challenges.
