Hannes ASTOK registered to attend the ICT 2013 Event
Hannes Astok is enthusiastic speaker for information society, specially promoting role of local governments, challenges of the online and mobile governance and new technologies in the government.
Mr. Hannes Astok (49) is former Member of the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu) and former Deputy Mayor of Estonian second largest city Tartu.
As Member of the Estonian Parliament he was dealing mainly with information society development, intellectual property and electronic communication regulation issues.
Mr. Astok is graduated from Tartu University as journalist.
He started his political career in Tartu, Estonian 2nd largest city, working for the decade for City of Tartu as Deputy Mayor. Today Tartu is one of the world’s leading cities in e-governance, providing for citizens and businesses wide variety of internet and mobile phone based services.
Hannes Astok is senior expert and Director for Development and Strategy in Estonian e-Governance Academy (www.ega.ee), providing training and consultancy for central and local governments in Central Asia, Caucasus, South-East Europe, Middle East and other transition areas.
