Discover the COSMOS: Discover the COSMOS - escience at Schools

This is an information stand, located in Zone R5 culture, science and creativity. Stand number: 5H5

The project “Discover the COSMOS” demonstrated innovative ways to involve teachers and students in e-Science through the use of existing e-infrastructures.

Its main outcomes are its educational portal (http://portal.discoverthecosmos.eu) which brings together resources, virtual experiments and online labs from the field of astronomy and HEP and a roadmap (in six languages) giving guidelines for developing technology enhanced Science Education in schools.

At the stand a number of indicative “hands-on” online interactive experimentations will be demonstrated. These and many others will be developed in a wide federation of labs which will be made available and easily accessible for teachers and students throughout Europe by the Go-Lab project (www.go-lab-project.eu). A live connection to the ATLAS experiment at CERN will be also included.

Join Us to a Virtual Visit at the ATLAS Experiment at CERN - Thursday, November 7th 2013 12:00. Click HERE for more information.
