OpenLab-Fed4FIRE: Federation in action: Robots' Dance - Demonstration of shared use of best of breed test infrastructures supporting Future Internet Research and Experimentation

This is an advanced research stand, located in Zone R4 intelligent connecting intelligence. Stand number: 4A8

The OpenLab and Fed4FIRE projects bring together the essential ingredients for an open, general purpose and sustainable, large-scale, shared experimental facility serving the demands of Future Internet Research and Experimentation. These offer professionally managed and federated advanced ICT infrastructures that support experimentally-driven research. The ultimate target is to provide experimenters a single entry point and a uniform process to run experiments from various heterogeneous sources.

In the stand we demonstrate our developments in action by "Robots' Dance". Any exhibition visitor will be able to create an experimenter account, log in and recruit robots, e.g. in Ghent or in Volos to perform a cleaning operation that can be watched and even joined if the beat invites enough! iMinds, UTH, INRIA and UPMC provide necessary elements to this live demonstration that shows the power of federation in functionality, diversity and social impact it offers to all networking enthusiasts Europe-wide. OpenLab and Fed4FIRE are FIRE portfolio projects.
