Identifying challenges for the human-centred networked city

Booth 3, 07/11/2013 (18:00-19:30)

Visit our networking booth to contribute to our collection of research challenges for the future of Urban Interaction Design.

Interaction Design, in an urban context, is an increasingly important field of research. Cities are fast becoming a hybrid of the physical and the digital. How to design the interface points where people will connect with, interpret and adapt this increasing dataflow is becoming a significant research question.

The UrbanIxD FET project is currently building an interdisciplinary research network around this domain of data-rich urban environments, with the aim of contributing to the future research agenda. The topic of Urban Interaction Design is related to: Smart Cities, Ubicomp, Pervasive Computing, and the Internet of Things, however Urban Interaction Design focuses on the human experience, taking a social and citizen-centric view of this field.

Drop in during our networking session to find out more and add your thoughts on this topic.
