Booth 3, 08/11/2013 (11:00-12:30)
The networking session will disseminate results and best practices from four leading FP7 projects in Computing Systems: FlexTiles (Self Adaptive Heterogeneous Manycore Based On Flexible Tiles), ParaPhrase (Parallel Patterns For Adaptive Heterogeneous Multicore Systems), T-CREST (Time-Predictable Multi-Core Architecture For Embedded Systems), and vIrtical (SW/HW Extensions For Virtualized Heterogeneous Multicore).
The 2013 Work Programme for ICT states: " a clear trend is the connection of more devices to the cloud... the need for integration of more functionality on chips is increasing to support new advanced capabilities ". The four projects are at the forefront of technologies to enable these capabilities.
They also address the vision for Research & Innovation on Advanced Computing in Horizon 2020 described by the EC: advanced computing resources should be made accessible for new actors and enable the continuous convergence of server farms, HPC, and embedded computing.
