Prof. Dr. Marc O. Schurr, Managing Director, novineon Healthcare Technology Partners GmbH, has substantial professional experience in the global healthcare industry. This concerns not only Research & Development, but also the market side.

He attended medical school in Tuebingen, Germany, including stays in the US and Italy, and took his doctoral degree following relevant research in the area of medical technologies.

After graduation from medical school he attended business education at the St. Galler Management Seminar.

Prof. Schurr has been working in medical research since 1990, his scientific results have led to a number of publications and conference presentations. From 1996-2002 he was Director of Steinbeis Transfer Centre Healthcare Technologies and was also in charge of the research program into advanced technology at the section for minimally invasive surgery, Eberhard-Karls University, Tuebingen, Germany. In this function he has initiated and directed a number of international R&D projects.

He is director of IHCI - Institute of Healthcare Industries at Steinbeis University Berlin, where he is Professor of Management and Technology in Healthcare. He is member of the boards of several companies and associations and entertains close contacts to leading European and American corporations and scientific institutions. 2000/2001 he was President of the Society for Medical Innovation and Technology.

At novineon Prof. Schurr is engaged with strategic questions for international companies in the healthcare sector, supports the set-up of innovative firms and helps researchers in commercializing their scientific assets. Also he is acting as the Project Coordinator in the European project VECTOR since the beginning of the project in September 2006.
