This high level plenary session will be the formal opening of ICT 2010. In addition to Mr. Yves Leterme, the Belgian Prime Minister, there will be speeches by Vice-President Silvana Koch-Mehrin of the European Parliament; Vice President Neelie Kroes of the European Commission with responsibility for the Digital Agenda; Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science; and, Christian Reinaudo, CEO of Agfa-Gervaert. Speeches will underline the vital role that ICT and Research and Innovation can play in delivering a smart, sustainable economy in the coming decade.
