MonAMI: A safe and comfortable life at home for elderly persons
This is a technology or research stand, located in Zone R5 - Digital Society. Stand number: R5-06
The MonAMI project is ‘mainstreaming on ambient intelligence’ to provide useful services for elderly people living at home.
This exhibit will demonstrate the results of the FP6-IST project known as MonAMI. It will simulate an elderly person’s flat that has been fitted out with the different services developed in the project. Users with disabilities, e.g. visual impairment, will show how they can operate and benefit from the services. There will be a ‘living room’ with table lights, a radio, and sensors for motion, light, humidity and temperature control. The door, window and shutters will have actuators and controls. User interfaces will include a touch screen computer, an iPhone, and a laptop with a Braille display. Users and visitors alike will be able to control the lights and appliances as well as ask for, and receive, sensor information including warning messages.
