VERITAS-VAALID: VIRTUAL USER MODELING AND SIMULATION FOR ACCESSIBILITY ASSESSMENT
This is a technology or research stand, located in Zone R5 - Digital Society. Stand number: R5-14
VERITAS is working on ‘virtual and augmented environments and realistic user interactions to achieve embedded accessibility designs’.
VAALID is the ‘accessibility and usability validation framework for AAL (ambient assisted living) interaction design process’ project. Despite the rapid evolution of ICT and the increasing importance of accessibility, developers of mainstream ICT-based products still struggle to adjust their products to the accessibility needs of all their end-users, such as those with disabilities. This exhibit will promote the results of the VERITAS and VAALID projects as innovative solutions to this problem. There will be demonstrations of the two projects to show the feasibility of novel virtual-user modelling, as well as accessibility evaluation technologies, which can provide for the built-in accessibility of future ICT and non-ICT products.
