Africa4All Parliamentary Initiative / eI-Africa / EuroAfrica-ICT / IST-Africa Initiative: Supporting Africa-EU Research Collaboration
This is a stand in the International village, located in Zone D: International Village. Stand number: D14
Information technology has been identified as a key catalyst for development, and forms the basis of a number of Africa-EU projects.
The Africa4all project initiative is providing ICT solutions to Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, Tanzania and Uganda with the goal of creating closer links between MPs and citizens. It aims to support better communication within committees, between MPs and civil society and between parliaments. Another project, eI-Africa, will promote the development and exploitation of European e-infrastructures in Africa and develop stronger co-operation links between the two regions. The goal of EuroAfrica-ICT is to support policy dialogues and strengthen ICT research co-operation, while EuroAfrica-ICT aims to support the implementation of the 8th Africa-EU Strategic Partnership on Science, Information Society and Space.
