This is a technology or research stand, located in Zone R1 - Smart Systems. Stand number: R1-19
iCub is the humanoid robot which resembles an infant. It has been developed in the FP6 project RobotCub.
This exhibit will demonstrate the extensions of the iCub humanoid robot under development in three FP7 projects on cognitive systems. These are ITALK (integration and transfer of action and language knowledge in robots), RoboSKIN (skin-based technologies and capabilities for safe, autonomous, and interactive robots), and AMARSi (adaptive modular architectures for rich motor skills). The iCub is a fully-fledged humanoid robot equipped with vision, hearing and touch. It has been designed with manipulation in mind. About 20 copies of the iCub, which is distributed as ‘open source’ under a general public licence, are available in research laboratories worldwide. An iCub will be present on the stand, along with information on the most recent and ongoing work in the three projects.
