InterMedia: Interactive Media with Personal Networked Devices
This is a technology or research stand, located in Zone R4 - ICT connects. Stand number: R4-11
Interactive media with personal networked devices (InterMedia) is putting the user at the centre of his or her ICT world.
Recent ICT advances provide users with a rich and interactive environment. Here, multimedia content can be accessed, visualised and interacted with, anywhere and at any time. This exhibit is being organised by the InterMedia project, an FP6 Network of Excellence, to present the results to date. The project aims to enable users to interact in real-time with multimedia content by means of wearable/mobile devices with ubiquitous connection capabilities. InterMedia first worked on clothing as a platform but the network has moved on to exploring miniaturised systems that can be incorporated into more practical items, such as watches and jewellery.
