SPOCS: Simple Procedures Online for Cross-border Services
This is a technology or research stand, located in Zone R5 - Digital Society. Stand number: R5-10
SPOCS, a Commission pilot project, aims to remove the administrative barriers that European businesses face before offering their services abroad.
The pilot project, entitled Simple Procedures Online for Cross-border Services (SPOCS), aims to enhance the quality of electronic procedures and is targeted at businesses with cross-border activities. SPOCS will help them meet administrative obligations through a single contact point, available online in all EU Member States. The project builds on the results achieved by STORK (electronic identity) and PEPPOL (electronic procurement), in relation to mutual recognition regarding the use of electronic identity and signatures. Emphasis is placed on the development of common specifications and tools for electronic services, such as technical and semantic interoperability, the promotion of eDocuments, and creation of a services directory.
