QuIC is the Centre for Quantum Information and Communication’ at the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) in Belgium.

QuIC has been active in quantum information sciences for about ten years. This exhibit presents the research being carried out there, focusing in particular on two projects. CRYPTASC, or advanced ICT solutions for cryptography, authentication and secure communication, aims to improve information and network security. The other project is COMPAS – Computing with mesoscopic photonic and atomic states – which hopes to design the first small-scale quantum processor. CRYPTASC is funded by the Brussels Capital Region under the ICT impulse programme, while COMPAS receives funding under the EU’s FP7 within the Future and Emerging Technologies open scheme for exploring promising visionary ideas.
