MOBESENS is the ‘mobile water quality sensor system’ project enabling continuous monitoring of water quality in lakes and seas.
MOBESENS provides a modular and scalable ICT-based solution for water-quality monitoring. It enables data to be gathered quickly and reported across wide areas. The wireless sensor network, which has low power requirements, gathers data samples that are time and location stamped. They are also automatically entered into the grid-based information system to facilitate analysis and issue alarms if needed. MOBESENS can be navigated and can perform both surface and sub-surface measurements. The unique feature of the system is its mobility which extends its range and facilitates its operation, even in bad weather. Renewable energy sources are being studied for the self-sustained operation of MOBESENS. This exhibit will demonstrate the important components of the system.
