HeartCycle is the ‘compliance and effectiveness in heart failure and chronic heart disease closed-loop management’ project.
This exhibit presents the HeartCycle project. It provides a solution for managing patients with heart failure and coronary artery disease. The system consists of two loops. A home-based loop interacts directly with the patient in his or her daily life, giving feedback, motivation and help. An outer loop involves medical professionals, maintaining a personalised care plan for optimal therapy. The daily analysis of the patient’s status by unobtrusive and wearable sensors enables earlier changes to their therapy. The monitoring of vital body signs and multi-parametric analysis will be used to assess and track the patient’s health status. An adverse event sounds an alarm for immediate professional attention and an automated decision-support system will derive therapy recommendations.
