The photonics industry is confident that the European technology platform Photonics21 will help shape the European research area.
The Photonics21 technology platform has grown from 250 members to more than 1 400, and includes relevant players from industry and research in Europe. This exhibition will provide visitors with detailed information about Photonics21 and its ongoing activities. Furthermore, the new Photonics21 Strategic Research Agenda, which was published in January 2010, will be available in hard copy. The document provides detailed information on how photonics can contribute to societal challenges in Europe, such as health, the ageing society and energy efficiency. The ‘Photonics in Europe’ study will also inform visitors about the sector’s economic potential.
