Future BNCI: Future Directions in BNCI Research
This is a technology or research stand, located in Zone R1 - Smart Systems. Stand number: R1-15
Future BNCI is an FP7 project looking at future directions in ‘brain/neuronal computer interaction’ (BNCI) research.
This exhibit is hosted by two BNCI projects: Future BNCI and BrainGain. BrainGain is a Dutch research consortium developing devices for detecting and modifying brain activity. The stand will include three demonstrations. The University of Twente will use EEG (electroencephalography) signals to change from an elf to a bear in the World of Warcraft role-playing game. The Donders Institute will show their ‘re-phrase’ system for better communication. Starlab will display its dry electrode system with practical, easy-to-use sensors. Visitors will be able to control the demos with their brain activity. There will also be ample information for visitors on the projects and the BNCI systems in general.
