Developed from a European research project nine years ago, the Alterface start-up is becoming a worldwide leader in interactive systems for amusement parks.
Alterface is a spin-off company based at the Université Catholique de Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium). After years of European research at the telecommunications and remote sensing laboratory, the firm has been in business since 2001. Alterface offers a range of interactive multimedia systems for museums, science centres and amusement parks. The company recently developed the Salto software driver, a sturdy interactive systems management tool designed to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week in public spaces.
