The ‘older people's e-services at home’ (OLDES) project intends to improve the quality of life of older people via technology.
This exhibit will focus on the outcomes of the OLDES project which is aiming to develop a system to enable the collection and transmitting of medical data from devices and sensors located in the homes of the elderly to a central system. Here, they are collected and forwarded to hospitals and physicians. The platform gathers data through medical sensors and devices. Data related to glucose, blood pressure, food consumption, personal weight and room temperatures are measured and then sent to a central system. In this way, data may be monitored, collected, compared and, if necessary, alarms can be activated. The exhibit will focus on the practical use of the OLDES platform by measuring medical data on a potential patient and on the general system's functionalities.
