ICT research co-operation between Europe and South-east Asia, which has been very active over the past few years, has been boosted by a number of recent developments.
These developments include the TEIN3 initiative, the launch of EU-ASEAN ICT dialogues, and the signature in 2009 of a memorandum of understanding on ICT between the European Commission and Singapore. A success story focusing on the French-Singaporean joint lab IPAL, with the French national centre for scientific research and the institute for infocomm research, will be also highlighted. This networking session on EU-ASEAN co-operation (jointly organised by the SEACOOP and IPAL initiatives) will be divided into two sessions: one on ICT research co-operation opportunities with ASEAN, presented by the SEACOOP project, and the other focusing on healthcare prognosis and well-being management with Singapore, organised by IPAL.
