European Efforts in Deploying IPv6 before 2012

This session will focus on efforts to deploy internet protocol version 6 (IPv6) in order to give Europe a competitive edge over Asia and the US.
A number of topics will be discussed, including large-scale broadband projects, Member States broadband initiatives, mobile broadband networks, and government deployment plans such as the German Digital Object Identifier system. The future internet forum for Member States initiative, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the Autonomic Future Internet will also be discussed. Finally, the relationship between IPv6 and cloud computing, SmartGRIDS, the internet of things, green IT and privacy issues will also be examined.
