Support & Funding

The Grand Coalition does not have a specific budget line to support its activities, but there are a number of ways that the Commission can provide support.

Potential Funding

The Grand Coalition does not have a specific budget line, however several funding instruments are available to stakeholders, such as the following:

  • European Structural and Investment Funds, esp. the European Social Fund and the Youth Employment Initiative. This possibility was highlighted at the conclusions of the latest European Council, which stated that "part of the European Structural and Investment Funds (2014-2020) should be used for ICT education".
  • Erasmus+, the new EU programme for education, training, youth and sport for 2014-2020.

Support for the Grand Coalition

Several projects are in place or planned to support the Grand Coalition, specifically:

  • A planned Secretariat of the Grand Coalition will be created in 2014, with a budget of € 1 million from the Competitiveness and Innovation programme.
  • Ongoing projects:
  1. e-Skills Communication and Awareness Raising Campaign 2014
  2. Promotion of ICT Professionalism
  3. e-Leadership for SMEs
