The winner and the runners up of the e-Mark U Trust Competition, launched last summer, will be honoured at an official award ceremony hosted by European Commission Vice-President Andrus Ansip (@Ansip_EU). National Library of Latvia, Riga
The ISA programme (Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations) is organising this conference in cooperation with the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Last year's conference attracted some 200 participants from more than 30 countries. SEMIC 2015 will explore how Enterprise Information Management can help public administrations to reduce costs and improve public services through digital transformation, for example through the application of the principles "digital by default" or introduction of "information once-only". The conference will present good practices that have successfully addressed these issues. Read more

A key success factor for the broad penetration of LEDs (light emitting diodes) in the general lighting market is a solid state light source with high system efficiency and high quality at moderate prices. These were the objectives of the SSL4EU project which finished in June 2013. We have recently been in touch with the consortium to see what has become of the results of this project which registered 10 patents during its lifetime. Read more
