The main objective of the study is to monitor the progress on the broadband coverage objectives of the Digital Agenda (basic broadband access for all by 2013 and high speed broadband access with at least 30 Mbps download speed for all by 2020), i.e. to measure the household coverage of different fixed and wireless broadband technologies with a special focus on Next Generation Access technologies. The Commission will publish the results of the study in the Digital Agenda Scoreboard. The contract will be renewable for 3 years. Read more

DG CNECT has now launched an open-procedure public procurement for the study: "Best practices for ICT procurement based on standards in order to promote efficiency and reduce lock-in" - SMART 2013/0048 The subject matter of the contract is described under the following context: The European Commission has developed a "Guide for the procurement of standards-based ICT: Elements of Good Practice" in the context of Action 23 of the Digital Agenda of Europe. The objective of this study is to support the European Commission in disseminating the Guide, organise meetings with stakeholders that are affected by the guide and to share best practices on the application of the guide. Challenge 5 builds on the previous research activities on health, ageing, inclusion, and governance. It aims to support new policy developments such as the Digital Agenda for Europe, the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing and Horizon 2020. It adapts also to better support innovation and activities closer to the market like pre-commercial procurement actions and platforms supporting social innovation. The focus will be on development of solutions that empower the individual, in a social context, to improve and manage personal life as a citizen, elderly, patient, consumer, civil servant or worker. The overall objective of the call 10 (Objective ICT-2013.11.5) for proposal is to drive innovation, facilitate technology transfer, support entrepreneurship and the creation of start-ups and spinoffs etc, contributing to the exploitation of more innovative products and services out of EU R&D projects. The purpose of this tender: Lot 1: The subject of the Contract is the follow up to the PSI platform in order to promote a dynamic PSI re-use market across the EU in the 2013-2015 timeframe. It should create and maintain a web site, building on the work of the current one, provide news on the European PSI developments, legal cases around re-use, good practices and examples of new products and services, and further develop the community of relevant stakeholders. Lot 2: Provision of services for the Publication, Access and Reuse of Open Public Data across the European Union, through existing open data portals. The services to be provided are: a) data preparation, transformation and publication services b) training services in the area of Open Data in particular to favour the uptake of Linked Open Data technologies by public bodies within the European Union c) IT advisory and consultancy services in the area of Open Data, and in particular on Linked Open Data technologies.
