The European Commission (DG Connect/Public Services) organised a workshop on 1 July 2015 in Brussels (the first of a series) to gather views and opinions from key stakeholders on their expectations from the new eGovernment Action Plan (2016-2020). The workshop also aimed to improve citizens’ and businesses’ experience when interacting with public administrations and to facilitate their relationship with governments. At this conference the EU-funded CIP project Cloudopting (innovative cloud-based services through an open platform) will be presented to companies and public administrations. During the afternoon session CSI-Piemonte will highlight Piedmont Best Practices carried out in Italy and Europe, such as EU energy projects NRG4Cast and Dimmer, Opticities and Alpin Space Alpinfonet projects on mobility and sustainable transport, Internet of Things and Cloud Smart Data platform experience in the Piedmont Region. The ISA programme (Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations) is organising this conference in cooperation with the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Last year's conference attracted some 200 participants from more than 30 countries. SEMIC 2015 will explore how Enterprise Information Management can help public administrations to reduce costs and improve public services through digital transformation, for example through the application of the principles "digital by default" or introduction of "information once-only". The conference will present good practices that have successfully addressed these issues. Read more
