The Commission is consulting on Directive 93/83/EEC of 27 September 1993 on the coordination of certain rules concerning copyright and rights related to copyright applicable to satellite broadcasting and cable retransmission (Directive) first to gather input for the evaluation process in order to assess the current rules, and, second, to seek views on a possible extension of the Directive in light of market and technological developments, with the objective of contributing to the Digital Single Market Strategy. The European project Robot-Era is an ambitious integrated project. Its objective is to develop and implement the general feasibility, scientific/technical effectiveness and social/legal plausibility and acceptability by end-users of a plurality of complete advanced robotic services, integrated in intelligent environments, which will actively cooperate with older people to provide independent living. The project has set up a short survey to collect the point of view of secondary, tertiary and quaternary stakeholders on the introduction of robotic services in healthcare facilities. You are invited to participate in the survey until 25th September, it should take about 10 minutes to complete. Read more

The state-of-the-art report on 'Big data and other innovative data technologies for evidence-informed policy-making' by Technopolis, OII and CEPS is now open to an online peer-review. Comments on the analysis, but also proposals for new examples of innovative use of data in government are welcomed until 29th May. Read more

Delivery was singled out as one of the main priorities for the development of a digital single market in the EU. The purpose of this public consultation is to consult all interested parties on the main issues and possible areas of improvement for cross-border delivery services when sending packets and parcels across the EU. Cloud Standards Coordination (CSC) is a collaboration initiative between the European Commission and ETSI (the European Telecommunications Standards Institute). CSC Phase 1 took place in 2013 and addressed primarily the standards roadmaps. CSC Phase 2, launched in February 2015, addresses the needs and priorities of Cloud Computing users, assesses the maturity of Cloud Computing standards, and evaluates how standards can support the Cloud users priorities.
