The TISP network (Technology Innovation for Smart Publishing), the EU-funded project coordinated by the Italian Publishers Association which gathers 25 organizations from 12 European countries, has released a set of policy recommendations, giving the publishing and technology sectors a common base at European level to foster and sustain innovation for the first time. We must learn to both sustainably exploit and protect our vast oceans, provider of oxygen, food, hydrocarbons and other resources. A solution lies in sensing and interacting through an Internet of Things, with distributed networks of intelligent sensors and actuators. Unfortunately, we currently lack a marine Internet, crucial to achieve distributed, coordinated and adaptive control, due to the rapid absorption of light and radio waves in seawater. Read more

ICT and Art Connect sets out to bring together artists and technologists to explore new ways of working. The creative processes in the Arts have been identified by all leading high tech companies as crucial for technological progress. Google, Apple and many others now routinely include artists in their development teams.
Collaborative acts of co-creation, together with an open and multidisciplinary discussion will foster the blending of Art and Technology. The coordination action FET-ART has played a crucial role in helping advance this initiative by a set of activities that allowed practitioners in technology and the Arts to meet, collaborate and discuss the future of such collaborations.
