Cypriot startup Diyful is a great example of how creativity and passion can come together to produce an innovative idea that is both functional and fun.

Founded by three young entrepreneurs, Christophoros Tzirtzipis, Antonis Poupazis and Charis Charalambous, Diyful aims to take the hard work out of do-it-yourself by offering DIYers an online platform packed with easy-to-find and useful information on the best type of tools and materials they need for a specific job, how much they cost and where the nearest store is to find them all. It also provides tips and advice and professional provider listings. It’s smart, helpful and user-friendly.

All qualities that convinced Startup Weekend Cyprus that Diyful has exactly what it takes to be a successful business and led to the budding venture being awarded first prize at the 2013 Startup Weekend Cyprus competition. As part of its prize, Diyful has since benefited from valuable mentoring.

For Christophoros, the brain behind the original idea, “being an entrepreneur is an amazing experience. You are your own boss, more productive and more passionate about what you do.
