Digital Agenda for Europe
A Europe 2020 Initiative

KETs initiative

A significant part of future goods and services are as yet unknown, but the main driving force behind their development will be Key Enabling Technologies (KETs), i.e. nanotechnology, micro- and nanoelectronics including semiconductors, advanced materials, biotechnology and photonics. The Final Report of the KETs High Level Group was warmly welcomed by Vice-Presidents Antonio Tajani and Neelie Kroes and Commissioner Maire Geoghegan-Quinn. The Commission will report back on the KET policy recommendations in a communication at the beginning of 2012. The KETs approach brings support to the full supply chain of nanoelectronics in Europe, from basic research to manufacturing.
