ICT 2013 event

Events: 06/11/2013 - 01:00 to 08/11/2013 - 01:00
The ICT 2013 event is foremost the opportunity for you to get updated on the EU’s new programme for research and innovation, Horizon2020. But it is also a forum for you to exchange ideas (see for example the session "Citizens - Innovation for better living"), contribute to the development of the research and innovation agenda, network and find new partners (more than 4000 participants registered, see the list).

Of particular interest to the members of the ICT for Ageing/AAL research community will be the two following networking sessions:
• ICT for 'Active and Healthy Ageing': from the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Joint Programme to Horizon 2020
• ICT for ageing well Benefits for individuals, society and economy

and those two sessions dedicated to the 2014 and 2015 calls for proposals under H2020:
• Advancing active and healthy ageing with ICT and ICT for integrated care
• ICT for integrated, sustainable, citizen-centred care

The exhibition promises to be highly interactive and visually exciting – with 186 projects showcasing their latest progress via demonstrations and prototypes, among them:
• fall prevention and detection systems for the elderly (FATE  and Idontfall projects)
• frugal innovation that addresses gap between technological advances and the needs of elderly (Usefil project)
• a robotic assistive device that helps elderly with cognitive problems navigate environments such as shopping centers (DALI project)
• the Giraff robot that provides telepresence to the elderly  (Giraffplus project)

The booth of the Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme (AAL JP) will provide information about its funding opportunities and feature concrete results via demonstrations from two of its projects.
