The draft 2010 Work Programme has been approved by the Management Committee of the ICT Policy Support Programme on 19 November. The formal Commission Decision on the programme is expected to be taken in January 2010, following the scrutiny period of the European Parliament.
Objective 3.3: e-Accessibility of Public Digital Terminals foresees the support of one large or several smaller pilot actions.
The aim of the pilot is to validate in real life settings accessibility and user-friendliness of Public Digital Terminals.
Objective 3.4: Assistive technology and accessibility portal foresees the launch of one or more thematic networks.
The aim is to establish an online European platform for Assistive Technology and accessibility devices and services, helping to connect available schemes in various EU countries, as well as to stimulate innovative and ubiquitous software-based solutions.
A workshop on Self-service terminals and Assistive technologies is organised in Brussels on 7 December. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information on the upcoming call for proposals and gather ideas from participants in this connection.
A general (covering all objectives of the Work Programme) Information Day is scheduled for 14 January 2010 in Brussels.
