Dotfive (Towards 0.5 Terahertz Silicon/Germanium Heterojunction Bipolar Technology)

Policy/Legislation: 14/11/2011
Dotfive project ended in July 2011 after having fruitfully developed ‘Hetero-junction bipolar transistors’ (HBTs) that could reach 500GHz (or 0.5THz). In addition to the 77GHz band allocated by international standards, the project expects a new 120GHz band to be opened up for longer-range radar.
