AKTIVE (Advancing Knowledge of Telecare for Independence and Vitality in later lifE) was a research project funded by the UK's Technology Strategy Board and Economic and Social Research Council.
The project has explored the way telecare can be developed to help older people live a full and independent life. In particular, it has investigated how telecare can help individuals who are prone to falls or have memory problems. It has also examined how telecare can benefit those caring for older individuals, both paid and unpaid carers.
This report provides a summary of the AKTIVE Conference on Technology, care and ageing: Enhancing independence', taking place at the University of Leeds on 8-9 April 2014.
