Eoghan O'Neill is a Research Programme Officer in DG CONNECT of the European Commission. Since July 2012 he has been working in DG CONNECT's 'Innovation' unit, focussed on development of policies and innovation strategies for the ICT sector. Prior to this he spent 6 years as a member of the Commission strategy unit overseeing EU funded ICT Research and Innovation activities. During his first 7 years as a Commission official (2000-2006) he worked as a Project Officer covering EU funded activities in several different ICT research areas.
Prior to the Commission he worked as a Project manager at Microsoft (Dublin) and as a production engineer for Spillers Petfoods (Italy).
Eoghan, a native of Dublin, is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (Engineering, 1993). He undertook his Master degree studies at Politecnico di Torino, Italy.
