"Raw Data Now" is the rallying cry to get public sector information out in the open, on the Web, to enable non-profits, small enterprises, the public sector itself to innovate. Novel services and business models will build on the integration of public sector information across existing silos: Across departments, across administrations, across borders.
The next step beyond raw data is open data, done well: using standardized, interoperable, machine-readable formats, linked across silos, to enable broad integration. We propose to bring together the diverse stakeholders in the European public sector information ecosystem, across sectors and across levels, to forge the lightweight agreements and standards that are needed to enable interoperability and integration of public sector information.
