Charlie Sheridan is the Associate Director of Intel Labs Energy and Sustainability research Lab focused on the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to drive and enable the shift to a more sustainable economy and society. He is managing sponsor and for the Intel Collaborative Research Institute for Sustainable Connected Cities in London. In this role he’s involved in all aspects of the institutes activities from operational to research agenda development. He manages high value diverse research portfolio in collaboration with leading academic institutions and Intel strategic partner companies.
He has participated in several European Commission research projects and consulted with the EU Commission on developing a code of conduct related to Data Centre energy efficiency. He currently represents Intel on the leading EU Commission sponsored working group focused on defining the benefits and target domains where ICT can play significant role in enabling resource efficiency across key societal sectors. He manages sustainable cities research cluster with leading academics and municipalities. His current research interests are in the domains of planetary scale sustainable cities and challenges of large scale electric vehicle integration.
