ImPLI - Improving Police and Legal Interpreting

Within the framework of its activities under UNITI (University Network of Interpreter Training Institutes) ISIT has signed a grant agreement with EU Directorate General Justiceexternal link to coordinate a project related to the right to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedingsexternal link (implementation of Directive 2010/64/EU external link).

ImPLI (Improving Police and Legal Interpreting) is a comparative study of interpreter-mediated interrogation practices - especially police interviewing - in Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy and Scotland.
