Customer Satisfaction Survey
The Directorate General for Interpretation of the European Commission conducted a satisfaction survey of the participants in meetings held in the Council, the Commission, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the regions from 12 to 23 November 2007.
We received 3152 replies to our questionnaire, a large proportion of which came from delegates from national administrations and Permanent Representations. This clearly demonstrates our most frequent customers' interest in the services we provide.
The survey shows a high degree of satisfaction with the interpretation services provided by DG SCIC: around 84% of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied.
These results are clearly an encouragement for our staff, but also as an invitation to avoid complacency, for example in further improving our services in areas such as terminology and understanding of the subjects discussed in meetings.
The Commission is determined to follow up on these results with concrete actions. For instance, we will consider how we can further strengthen our comprehensive training programme and further develop terminology work in order to consolidate the quality of interpretation.
