Katarzyna Wilk was educated at Yale University, where she received a PhD, M.A. and M.Phil. in Sociology, with a specialization in Comparative Political Sociology. Katarzyna also holds an M.A. in Economics/International Relations from the Warsaw School of Economics, and an M.A. in Sociology from Warsaw University.
Katarzyna taught at Yale University and Ohio State University courses on institutional change, social inequality, gender, survey design and statistics.
Since 1998, Katarzyna has been a researcher at the Polish Academy of Science, specializing in comparative social inequality and cross-national survey design. Additional professional experience includes stages in the Cabinet of Vice-President Siim Kallas, and the Office of the Committee for European Integration in Warsaw.
In March 2008, she joined the Bureau of European Policy Advisers as a political adviser. She works on identifying the need for policies based on analysis of survey and socio-demographic data, as well as their formulation and evaluation. She also conducts research on the impact of the 2004 and 2007 European Union enlargements, welfare reforms, and on gender inequality in Europe.
Katarzyna's publications and forthcoming works embrace topics concerning political attitudes and behaviours among Europeans including attitudes towards the EU, welfare reforms, popular mobilization, and statistics.
