Stefano BERTOZZI

Stefano BERTOZZI

Stefano Bertozzi from Bologna, Italy, studied international relations, law and economics at the Johns Hopkins University in Washington and the University of Bologna.

He worked as a consultant in the World Bank, Washington DC, and as an analyst in several financial institutions in Italy (1989-1995). Mr Bertozzi held a number of positions in other international organisations. He was Head of Unit and Deputy Director for Administration and Finances, and Secretary to the Committee on Economic Affairs and Development of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg (1995 - 2004).

He was member of Vice-President Franco Frattini's Private Office. His areas of expertise were immigration, integration and asylum, as well as borders and visa issues.

In August 2008, Stefano Bertozzi joined the Bureau of European Policy Advisers (BEPA) as adviser for issues related to migration, integration and border management.

He has widely published and lectured on European affairs issues.
