The European Union celebrates European Maritime Day 2012 across events in Member States, on May 20, 2012. The main event will be the European Maritime Day Conference which this year will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 21-22 May, 2012, with almost 1,000 participants.

Tourism is undoubtedly an economic backbone of coastal regions. At present about 2.36 million people are employed in the coastal tourism sector, representing 1.1% total EU employment.

European Maritime Day 2012 will be organised in Gothenburg, Västra Götaland, Sweden on May 21 and 22, 2012. It is the first time Maritime Day is organised in Scandinavia and in the North Sea area.

On 14 February, Athens will host the 1st Stakeholders' Workshop on Adriatic-Ionian Maritime Affairs. The Stakeholders will present their proposals on how to enhance benefits from maritime activities on employment, sustainable growth, accessibility and better quality of life. The workshop will discuss maritime economy, protection of the marine environment, fisheries and safer sea. The conclusions of the workshop, as well as the most relevant and feasible proposals, will be included in a EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region.

Maritime spatial planning is about planning of sea space and can help us manage our seas and oceans sustainably. In the process, it can help us create new jobs and economic opportunities, meet our targets for reducing our carbon footprint and keep our seas healthy for generations to come.
Integrating maritime surveillance aims to allow for information exchange between public authorities reponsible for maritime surveillance in fields such as environment, pollution prevention, fisheries, transport, customs, border control, law enforecement and defence to make management more effective.

The Member of the European Commission responsible for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Mrs. Maria Damanaki, met in Athens today with the Greek Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Mrs Tina Birbili.

The Commission is looking for approximately 25 experts to the Marine Observation and Data Expert Group. The experts will be appointed in a personal capacity for a period of three years. Deadline for applications: 30 July 2010.

The European Commission today launched a pilot version of a new European Atlas of the Seas – a dynamic online atlas where users will be able to learn more about Europe's seas, its maritime sectors, the interaction between them and the maritime policy which brings them all together.

The evaluation of the Financial instrument for fisheries guidance (FIFG) has been concluded. The results will feed into the ongoing discussions on the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy.

Námorné záležitosti a rybárstvo

Európska komisia pravidelne uverejňuje výzvy na prekladanie ponúk či návrhov a výzvy na vyjadrenie záujmu, ktoré sa týkajú nákupu služieb a tovaru. Rybárstvo

EÚ poskytuje finančné prostriedky rybárskemu priemyslu a pobrežným spoločenstvám prostredníctvom Európskeho fondu pre rybné hospodárstvo, ktorý spravujú vnútroštátne orgány v každom členskom štáte EÚ.

V prípade záujmu o podrobnejšie informácie o tom, ako prebieha správa finančných prostriedkov z EFRH vo vašom štáte, sa obráťte na príslušný vnútroštátny orgán pre rybárstvo pdf - 157 KB [157 KB] .

V prípade záujmu o informácie o príjemcoch finančných prostriedkov EÚ, si pozrite stránky Európskej iniciatívy za transparentnosť.

Vlády členských štátov EÚ majú možnosť poskytovať svojmu rybárskemu priemyslu dotácie (označované pojmom štátna pomoc) pod podmienkou, že nedochádza k narušeniu konkurenčného prostredia medzi štátmi EÚ. Pravidlá týkajúce sa štátnej pomoci sú dôkladne presadzované.
