The Guidelines for the examination of State aid to the fishery and aquaculture sector were adopted by the European Commission on 29 June 2015 and were published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 2 July 2015 (OJ C 217, 2.7.2015, p.1).

Objective of the consultation
The objective of the consultation was to collect the views of public authorities, citizens, companies, and organisations on the Draft Guidelines for the examination of State aid to the fishery and aquaculture sector. Those Guidelines set out the principles that the Commission would apply when assessing whether aid to the fishery and aquaculture sector could be considered compatible with the internal market under Article 107(2) or Article 107(3) TFEU. They apply to all State aid granted by Member States to the fishery and aquaculture sector that has been notified or should have been notified to the Commission in accordance with Article 108(3) TFEU.
