Proposal for a Commission communication on Integrated Maritime Policy for the Atlantic Ocean sea basin

Public consultation

Title

Public consultation on a proposal for a Commission communication on Integrated Maritime Policy for the Atlantic Ocean sea basin

Policy field(s)

Maritime affairs and fisheries

Target group(s)

Member States, regional and local authorities, inter-governmental and non-governmental bodies, public organizations, enterprises, civil society and the general public

Period of consultation

From 16/08/2010 to 15/10/2010

Objective of the consultation

In the context of the IMP progress report, the General Affairs Council called for further development of the strategic approaches to regional sea basins where there is a demand and a perspective of clear value added.

In this context, the Commission is currently reflecting on the possible content for a communication on the Atlantic Ocean. Such a communication would only be appropriate if it provides value added and is useful for Atlantic stakeholders. It is for this purpose that the Commission has launched a public consultation.
