We are

As the Commission's in-house science service, the mission of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) is to provide EU policies with independent, evidence-based scientific and technical support throughout the whole policy cycle. Being a Directorate-General of the European Commission, the JRC functions both as the in-house science service of the Commission and as a reference centre for science and technology for the Union. The Institute for Energy and Transport (IET) in Petten (NL) and Ispra (IT) contributes to the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of community policies related to energy. The vacancy is within the Renewable Energy Unit (REU), located in Ispra, Italy, which has the task to provide evidence-based policy support on renewable energies and a reference on relevant technological issues, on enhancing energy end-use efficiency in Europe. The Unit undertakes in-house research and development in selected fields requiring further European effort. In particular it operates the Knowledge Centre for Energy Efficiency.

We propose

An interesting position as contract staff (FG I) with the following tasks:

  • Administrative Assistant:
    • support for the handling of information, documentation, data bases and archives
    • support for the organisation of meetings, conferences and audiovisual broadcastings
    • enter, check and exploit data on archived documents

We look for

The candidate must be on a valid EPSO reserve list for Function Group I contract staff. Persons who are currently working with a FG I 3a type of contract at the European Commission are eligible to apply.

The ideal candidate is expected to have job-related experience of at least 1 year. The post requires experience in at least one of the following fields: documentation handling and archiving. Experience in meeting organisation is an advantage. The working language is English. Knowledge of French would be an advantage.
