JRC Info day in Luxembourg
The JRC holds an information day today in Luxembourg focused on four topics of common interest: ICT security, water and agricultural resources management, financial stability and innovation policy.
The objectives of this conference are to make Luxembourg's researchers and entrepreneurs aware of the research activities performed at the JRC level, stimulate exchanges around common topics of interest and strengthen future collaborations between national research laboratories and the JRC.
Examples of specific topics raised during the roundtable discussions were cybercrime research, smart meter security, privacy and data protection, monitoring agricultural and water resources, the possibilities of modelling regional economics or the economic market and industrial research and innovation.
The event has been co-organised by Luxinnovation and has counted on the participation of the JRC Director-General, Dominique Ristori and Deputy DG, Vladimir Šucha; Pierre Decker, first counsellor for the Ministry for higher education and research and Gilles Schlesser, managing director of Luxinnovation. In addition, representatives from several public and private research organisations and companies also attended the conference.
Info days are organised by the JRC on a regular basis in different EU and associated countries. They allow for the national policy and scientific communities to exchange insights on scientific issues and meet with JRC representatives and scientists.
